From your dp, OP, it looks like you have the older body style, and both the cherokee's you showed pics of are the newer style. So even if you do find one like in the pic it would probibally need modding before it would fit.

x2, the hinges in the 97-01 hatches are hidden, while our older body style's have the hinges on the outside. But i mean its probably only fiberglass, wouldnt take much to make it work.

Oh and had no idea they made cherokee's with spoilers....learn something new every day

Does it have a purpose? Does it keep your back window cleaner or is it just for looks? I think it looks kind of cool.

I've always like the rear tailgate spoiler on the XJ. I think it was only available on the European XJ, I believe it was standard on the Orvis trim level XJ. I was looking into getting one, but the guy parting out the Jeep said he couldn't see a way to remove it from the tailgate.

Actually, from what i understand, that particular kind of spoiler is designed to keep dust, dirt, water, etc. off your rear window better. I'm guessing the airflow created from the design is what does it. and it hangs over a bit for the water. Just my thoughts!

Same here. It would cut out a little bit of sun as well as keeping crap off the window. I want one.

They came as part of the Orvis package in Britain along with the (fake) hood vents and ZJ seats. You might see one on a breaker on ebay.co.uk from time to time.
