Jordan96xj nailed it right on the head.
These are 16+ years old. I recommend looking for one with 100K-150K mile(whatever that is in km, I'm on my first cup of coffee).
Super high miles, it's gonna start needing a lot of attention soon.
Super low miles, it spent a lot of it's life sitting, which is really bad for these rigs.
I bought my latest XJ in pretty good shape. But right outta the gate it got the following;
Thorough tuneup
New battery cables
All elec. grounds cleaned/repaired
All new U-joints
New control arms, TREs, etc.
She's at 180K miles now, runs like a champ, tracks down the hwy smooth and straight. Daily driver, wheeled on the weekends. I don't give a second thought to driving her anywhere, whether I'm going across town or across Texas.
