Default XJ prices starting to go UP?

Are XJ prices finally starting to go up?

$8900 for a 99 seems a little steep, and $4k for a 94 with 275k miles.

$6200 for an 88 seems high.

Not going up. You are just showing examples of the typical idiots selling old trucks that think they are worth 2-4 times what they are really worth.

I never have problems buying 99-01 XJ sports with 100k-130k miles for under $3k

There's a guy in my area with an 01 with around 200k that he's been trying to get north of $4000 for about a year now. It's been on Craigslist forever.

"Last year of this iconic vehicle - Currently on the road, and needs nothing. Runs perfect, and can be driven anywhere, any distance, anytime. 4wD works perfect - and boy, we sure needed it this winter.

Automatic. Power everything. I am the first civilian owner. The original owner was a fleet company which rarely used it.

Has a very heavy duty tow package in back, with an electric brake assist inside - and it even has a tow package on front! (Both professionally installed.) This car was not used for towing anything heavy. (Black label edit, it used to say, "never used for towing, only pulled a small trailer" which I believe technically is towing)

I think it has a little bit over 200,000 miles, but you would not know it. My previous vehicle was a 1999 of the same make and model, and it had over 325,000 miles when I sold it - and it still ran like new. This one is good for a very long time yet.

Beginning to show surface rust along the bottom/inside of the lower doors, which is typical. The bumpers also could use a sanding and repaint. There is a small quarter-sized circle of surface rust on the hood. This started because the auto broker I bought it from did a touch-up there, and it wore away. Title is clean - never in an accident - never any dents, etc.

The car still looks fantastic, has a lot of power, is very smooth, and very comfortable, sturdy. It has all the power options, and child-safe, auto-locking doors so kids in the back can't mistakenly open the doors.

It does have ABS, and delayed headlight turn-off, which were not common options for this vehicle.
This car does not need anything and is ready to go. On the road with a current sticker. I am selling it because we need money for our mortgage - I hate to sell her.

The ideal buyer will be somebody who will love her for a long time to come, not some kid looking for a $500 thrill ride. I have taken good care of her, and never abused her. (example: never off-roaded in this car.) Only sincere responses will be replied to. Make me an educated, realistic offer. I won't show her before you do so. Sorry, but we need to at least be on the same page before we take up both of our valuable time. She can be seen in Newburyport, or Gloucester, or in between. Kelly Blue Book is over $4,000 starting at "fair" condition."

There's a reason he hasn't sold it, it's not worth anywhere near what he thinks it is.

Dealer listings on anything used are always grossly overpriced. However the private sellers here in the DFW area have been selling their XJ's for $500-$1500 higher than this time last year. They don't last on CL a week, unless they're a 2wd or a total POS.

XJ's will command higher prices in the future, just a matter of a time.

They're a good vehicle to recondition/restore, there's plenty of reasonably priced after market parts, plenty of online info on repairing.

Bad weather 4x4 prices go up, good weather they go down. go figure.. Then theres the fact that those are dealer prices. which tend to be 50-100% high in the first place.

Default E-Bay built XJ's "Nicest in Country"

These guys in Richmond, Virginia (link) regularly sell newly built XJ's for $8-10,000. One just went for 13K.
Here is a current auction will likely go beyond 9K. "Nicest in Country"
HA HA.
They are all on stock gears too.
