XJ NEWBIE

I am new to the xj world and am looking at getting some info on my jeep, Like what transmision, t-case, Rearend,frontend, and Gear ratios it has.

Its all stock and is 1996 4door 4.0l 5speed.

Transmission= AX-15
T-case= NP 231 (2hi-4hi-N-4lo) or NP 242 (2hi-4 part time- 4 fulltime-N-4lo)
Rearend= Dana 35 (if ABS) or C8.25 (no ABS)
Frontend= Dana 30 HP
Gear Ratio= Stock is 3.07 with 5 speed

Easiest way to tell what you had from the factory is to request a factory build sheet using the VIN.

Email them the vin and within a day or two they will send you the build sheet which has all sorts of interesting info in it.
