Thanks, it's coming along. The angle of the photo doesn't do it justice, the back is just above level and in person the tires don't look quite as small. My plan is for 31"s, and bumpers both ends. Some mech work will be done within a coupla weeks then I install bumpers. I suppose at some point I'll post a build thread.

Whats your guy's opinion on the Goodyear Wrangler RTS tire? My XJ came with a brand new set on it and so far they have been good, decent in the snow.

 

They're not bad. They have their limitations. I'd say they're about a step or two below the BFG ATs in means of traction in mud, but they're great in sand. They are a light truck tire though, so the sidewalls are pretty thin... not as thin as the WalMart Goodyears, but still pretty thin. They do have a higher pressure rating than the WalMart Goodyears, and seem to have better construction as well. In my experience, the RTS balance much better than the cheapies. Definitely don't neglect airing down to gain the maximum amount of footprint when you go offroad with them.

I'd say this much... run them until you wear them out, then invest money in a better tire. They're a pretty good tire if your vehicle comes equipped with them, but there's much better options out there.

I had them on mine (bought a used set on CL for mine a few years back) until I got a set of 31s...

Hey! saw this post and loved this height! What lift is it? and also how much cutting of the fenders did you do to make it not rub? also hows it drive down the road?

 

Yup. 60 lb labrador, 45 lb pointer, tools, guns, ammo, food and a full tank of gas. Im running 16x8 American Racing Bajas with 4" backspacing...NO rub. The TJ Canyons with 31's nearly hit the leafs in the rear just sitting at 30psi

 

Just bought my first XJ. Currently setup with 3" Procomp lift and stock 2014 Rubicon wheels with BFG MT's. Plan on flat fenders with an RE 3.5" lift on black steel 15x8's with BFG KO2 32's along with replacement bumper on both ends and having an all around reliable trail rig. Only has 100K on the odometer and plan to take it much further. There are some awesome rigs on here FYI. I can tell yall will easily help me spend my money.
