Yeah, it seems like they're pretty rare. Mine has a broken piece on it and i want to find a new one, but i'm wondering how hard that's going to be.
Here is my 90 Laredo that my dad bought brand new and drove until he died in 2003. It was sold by my wicked stepmother and I spent 3 years finding it and buying it back. I found it in the back of a vacant lot with a blown motor and a homeless guy living in it. I had a LEO friend of mine help me find the owner and I got it back for $450.
I spent a year rebuilding the XJ from front to back, inside and out.
I had the original engine rebuilt by a local 4.0 expert including boring .040, decking the block and milling the head. He gave it a 3 angle valve job. I rebuilt the NP 231 with new chain/seals then added a AA SYE. I dumped the D-35 for a 29 spline 8.25 w/Detroit TruTrac that I built myself(I do my own gear set-ups). The front disco D-30 went bye-bye and a 99 HP D-30 took its place, both axles are geared 4.10.
It has the 96 "dual diaphragm" booster upgrade and "open system" cooling upgrade with dual electric XJ fans.
It has new interior including carpet/headliner, Nav system, iPod compatible stereo and Remote Start.
The lift is all homebrew. The leafs are bastard packed XJ leaves, front springs are OME HD with spacers. All for a total of 2.5" lift.
I have a set of TJ Canyons with 30x9.5 BFG AT KO's
The paint is new.
The only thing left that is original and untouched is the AW4!

Thats a nice jeep and about the same thing want to do to mine... I was thinking 2", 31s and 4.10s (I never drive over 65 anyway, 2100rpm would be fine at 65).
89 Laredo, low optioned.
Had some weight in the back... 4 31s on aluminum rims.

I have about 5k in the resto of my 90 but I would do it all over again, its a labor of love!
Paint was more than the motor, actually double!
