My research has brought me here, and I’m delighted...
Hello,
...After 25 years of loyal service, my radiator hose has failed!
After 214240 km (133 122 mile) although it was original!
(Drilled at the end, I cut it off and reattached it in the meantime...).
After a lot of research on the internet and a few phone calls
regarding this low-mounted hose (ref 52003790AE) for my Cherokee XJ,
2.5 l Sport from 1999 ; petrol ; 2 doors ; air conditioning ; power steering,
the various low hoses offered by «perplexed» dealers
in no way correspond to the original ones!...
In fact, after taking the various measurements
(from radiator inlet to water pump outlet and their diameters),
the «simplified» hoses proposed seemed, among other things, too short!...
So, after studying various proposals
- the 2.5 l and 4 l engines being fitted with the same radiator/water pump
(as well as air-conditioning and power steering), the choice was finally made, out of spite
on a hose for XJ 4 l. (Ref Gates 21615 equivalent to Ref 52028024AB).
While waiting for this delivery, and cross-referencing various pieces of information,
I’ve set myself the task of restoring certain elements, in particular
- headliner (selection in progress)
- front left seat and rear bench seat with holes
but I realize how difficult it is to order a simple hose
or replacement covers...
My fruitless search for this Cherokee model leads me to wonder about its rarity:
Limited edition Cherokee Sport «Docksides» 2.5 l., sold in France,
bought at auction with 55,000 km (34,175 mile)
- How many Cherokee «Docksides» were produced?
- For the European market only?
