Both 5.9's, top has 230k with 10k on rebuilt tranny. Bottom only has 169k but has a few quirks. Yay or nay?

 

If your unsure of just what to check for, find a shop that knows jeeps or off road vehicles... If you can... Around here, they are pretty common..

 

I love 5.9s. They both seem like good prices and look in good shape. I would say go look at both and see if it looks like the owner(s) have taken care of them. But yay.

 

Based on just the Ad's, I'd buy the top one in a heartbeat.

 

I was thinking the same about the top one, I was just concerned about the mileage. I, like most of you, come from the 4.0 world. Is 230k a lit for these? Otherwise I have a pretty good idea of what to be looking for on these.

 

I'd say go look at both of them, a well cared for rig would probably be in better condition than one with less miles. They both look good to me, the second one seems to have some issues but they seem to be minor. 700 bucks buys alot of gas or donuts.

 

Think I'm gonna try to at least look at the silver one tomorrow. Seems to be a lot better cared for.

 

230 is alot for any motor that isnt a honda, dosent mean it wont be fine til 300k if you take care of it.

 

I hear that. But there is another zj with a 5.2 on cl that has 305k on it. And usually I am pretty diligent about maintainence and such.
