Some owners think their used car is worth its weight in gold.Just watch cragislist and spots around town people park cars for sell. And try to find a bone stock xj that was taken care of.As far as price cash always talks if they won't take it walk away and make sure they got your number.Sometimes a week or two later they will call you up and take your offer.

I found a 2000 model and the guy said I could have it for $1500 with an extra set of wheels. Only thing I'm curious about is it's got a main seal leak. Needs a set of shocks but I was gonna lift it anyways. Frame is still painted from factory. And that's rare for one from north east Ohio. Drove it and no death wobble either. Engine swap a couple years ago also. 185,xxx on the body and around 160,xxx on the motor.

FWIW check the rear valve cover gasket. Commonly misdiagnosed RMS leak is caused by a leak from the valve cover.

Yeah that makes sense cause it's covering up further than the front of the tranny.

Idk if that was sarcasm? Drips down the back of the block and out the bottom looking like is coming from the RMS.

Ha no that wasn't sarcasm. Just makes sense because it's from the front of the tranny and on the oil pan also.

The 2000 sounds better than the rust bucket.
And if there is one thing i hate its rust.
