Get a lift kit w/ chrome wheels (like a 1ft lift kit) and then get it all painted up pretty, put new 30" tires on 24" wheels or so and then NEVER TOUCH DIRT! I saw a guy with this setup. He was essentially a traffic a**hole.

creepinjeepin 11-27-2008 02:57 AM

we've got a lot of 'look good jeeps' down here too.

hubbazoot 11-27-2008 03:03 AM

Apparently I can't paste the picture of this guy, he has 48" tires on 15" wheels, it's like a 2ft lift kit, no articulation at all. Not even chopped wheel wells....

That way you can fit those 20" chrome SPINNAS on it.

The single worst thing i ever did to an XJ was install control arms with Heim joints... i was running a forest road in Gunnison NF in 99 and i thought my rig was gonna fall apart.

lowering a Cherokee, i can actually admire some of the rigs i'v seen built. Not my style but when done well i like the look of a street Jeep. An MJ lowered and built like a factory racer would be cool to have.

Yeah, that's a pool they're pulling it out of.

1. Install a K&N Filter on a cold-air intake that is not shielded from engine-bay heat.

2. Change oil/filter and install a FRAM filter with full synthetic oil on a 4.0L w/over 150,000miles.

3. Place a : "If you can read this...I need more mud"
"If you can read this...roll me over"
stickers on the rear window of a "Mall-rig" that will never see a trail or ANY mud.

4. Install the "Roll Me Over" sticker from #3 right-side up. Shows the people behind you in mall traffic that you are an idiot.

5. Spend an outrageous amount of money to outfit your XJ with items that you will NEVER ever use just because they "look cool"

go wheeling with no recovery points.
go wheeling alone with no recovery gear.
go wheeling with a spare tire that is not sized to your runners.
put off routine maintence.
install a lift kit before you install armor (provided you are going to use the lift for it's intended purpose).
attempt an unfamiliar water crossing without checking it out.
install lift, armour, big tires and run junk brakes.
