Sorry no picks on this one:
Many years ago, I drove my VW powered sand rail to the top of a 20' mound of dirt. I pressed in the clutch for the 45 degree desent down the other side when the cable broke. Gravity and engine torque over came the drum brakes and down the other side we went. At the bottom of the hill was a vehicle wide trail and then the water filled hole they dug to create the mound. When the front tires hit the water, I turned off the ignition. When we stopped, I was up to my chest, and my female passenger was up to her neck in cold water (too close for comfort). During the recovery, we managed to flip it over on its side due to the bad recovery angle.
More recently:
Teaching my 15 YO daughter to drive on Christmas in the rain. We pulled into the woods aproaching a mud puddle, and I told her to give it some gas. We shot through the mud puddle strait across the trail and strait towards the ditch. My best delayed reaction was to reach across and yank the wheel 90 degrees to the right. Too late! The drivers side wheels passed over the edge of the ditch and in we went. Our forward momentum kept us going in without going over. When we go to the bottom, we tipped totally on the side stopped by the roof rack hitting a pine tree on the far side. Took three people to get it on the "wheels" and a wrecker to get it out.

First time i ever got it stuck ( since my uncle gave it to me )
It dosent look like much, but u have to remember how much lift
the jeep has, Both the front and rear axles where buried under the sand.
every time the wheels spun, it got deeper
That night a couple guys came buy in a old 4 runner and a ZJ
and both of them tied together would not even pull it out
and the next night, my buddys 6500lbs warn wouldn't even budge it
we had to high lift it, and shovel sand under the tires.
The sand actually took all the paint off my drive shafts!

worst does not involve my jeep, was with a john deere 2940 4wd tractor and a muck field irrigation creek. Sank the tractor up to it's axle's in the creek...
... took the largest Front end Loader available in town to get it out... not good. To say the least it was cause for conversation with some of my neighbors in the greenhouse industry who decided it made for good watching. Still hear about it.

This is my first post. I've been a proud owner of a 1999 XJ for about 3 weeks and seeing as today was my first stuck I guess it also means it's my worst. The front axle and linkage are sitting on the mud hill, the front passenger tire is off the ground and the rear drivers side is barely touching. This was in an abandoned lot full of mud about ten minutes from my house in the Suburbs of Portland.
It was an easy pull out with my friends 93 Grand Cherokee and a tow strap.
EDIT: The reason the back hatch is open is because I tried to put a friend on top of the back left tire and the body flexed enough that after they had gotten in the latch was about an inch or so off. Also it has a 1.5inch lift and 235/75/15s

I don't have any pictures, mainly cuz I was crapping my pants thinking that I was gonna spend the night at 11,000 ft. By my self. So I was wheeling by myself like an idiot. Doin a really really easy trail when I saw a mud puddle about 30 feet long 12 feet wide. I get out to examine this "puddle" to see how deep it was. I grabbed a stick poked around in there for the first 10 or so feet and it was only about 2 feet deep. Ok I can make this....... Start driving in with some speed so I can have momentum to get through so the mud doesn't grab me. Well then a hidden cliff in the puddle decides it wants to eat my jeep and the front end starts sinking. After I realized I'm not backing out of this, I killed the engine so it doesn't hydro lock. I spent 3 hours trying to get it out by myself. Then a yellow tj comes up and winched me out. I was so thankful to him. I was so scarred I was gonna have to walk the 13 miles back out the trail to the camp ground that might have people there or stay the night.... I will never wheel alone again and neither should you

I was getting ready for the Dirtiest Car competition at my school's car show (which I took easily), I lost the steering from the mud caking into my treads and landed in a hole. My Jeep was sitting on a island of mud soo my tires could grip. The mud covered my starter connections so I couldnt even start my Jeep. A couple hours later of digging, a tow rope, and a bigass truck, I finally made it out. Not bad for my first stuck I think.

ok well i finally did it...got buried..heres the back story.. 4 oclock this afternoon a customer of mine called me up stuck down the street from my shop in a noted trail for swallowing stuff under 33s..so i jump in my cherokee with some gear and go pull him out...there was like 5 trucks down there so i figure ...I'll show him how its done i have raged the hole before.....weeellllll it had changed. i hit the hole and stuffed my diffs in the mud hard stopped dead in the center of the hole...after a few hours with a couple trucks i got my yota buddy with a brand new (like i had to wait for him to finish wiring it) winch and unstick me....worst part of the deal i just used my stock mounts for my bumper ( never intended to wheel it much) ripped the unibody when this hammerhead took tug as hammerdown with 10ft of slack with his duramax..oh well.:

it's about 35 degrees to boot

finally home 4hrs later
