wiring issues
ok so my 99 cherokee sport came with factory fog lights so i thought i could just use the factory wiring from them and just connect that wiring to the wiring for new lights i got a cheap set at harbor frieght nothing to powerful problem is im not getting any power, not even to the switch. the green accesory light on the switch itself to tell if your getting power to the switch wont even turn on and i know the fog lights worked b4 i detached them when switching bumpers so my question is does anyone know why this could be? we checked all the fuses inside the cab and none were blown so im not sure what the problem could be? also after doing this when i turned my jeep back on to check the lights my check engine light appeared on also dk why that happened. if anyone has any input please share

How many amps can the factory wiring harness for the fog lights handle, i.e. what is the wattage on factory fog lights on your year Cherokee? Maybe the aftermarket lights you installed blew the fog lamps' fuse or relay in the engine compartment?
