Default Chinese Cherokee!?

Has anyone heard of the cherokee being made in china? I just heard about it and googled it a little bit. I wish it came with the 4.0 engine or even better a HEMI!! I kinda want one!

My dad went to the shanghi (sp) area a few years ago For a business trip and said there were quite a few xjs driving around. Someone should buy up the manufacturing equipment and bring them back to north America.

I think that would be awesome! I would save up the money to buy one (or i would try to get my dad help pay for it).

I found this link a while back ago...

There's not a whole lot of info on specs though.

Did a little googlin....i guess Beijing Jeep Corp. sold the Jeep 2500 to some other company called BAW(?) and it's now called a Qishi. Here's a few pictures of a newer one. The interior on this thing is surprisingly out-dated....but i like it!!

(Now we know to blame the Chinese for those hideous taillights that attacked the Liberty!)

I'm actually quite pleased with the simplicity of this interior. It's not like the 2011 Grand Cherokee's interior, so many ***** and buttons it would take you till you paid it off to figure out what everything does!!

I think thats what the cherokee would look like now if they kept it goin in the US. But somebudy would mess up the rear end of it over here.

It sure would be cool to import one of these from overseas... It's new, but with that old Jeep-style to it still. No "Jeep" Compass here!!
