Used the 4WD again today. Engages almost immediately. Got home with no issues!

Good to hear it bimmer, got to ask do you really do the things in your signature?

Go to yoga class. Drink non-fat mocha soy latte's. Watchin' TED lectures. Ridin' my Vespa. Organic eatin' Lawyer on!

Vespa is ok although prefer the Lambretta.

I can never manage to drop back into 2wd if I'm going up a hill. Is that normal? I'll let off gas, but figure the actual leverage of the climbing may prevent the t-case from moving. Derp???

Question:
Is doing donuts/drifting in part-time 4-hi in the snow bad for anything?
With like 4-6in on the ground in a snowy parking lot?

Tried out my 4wd for the first time tonight! It shifted into 4wd high immediately, and seams to work just fine. However when I went back into 2wd the light went out right away, but still seemed to be in 4wd (or something in between) then the jeep shuddered about 30 seconds later and went back to 2wd. I tried this again and it repeated itself the same way. I tried a third time nut this time I shifted the transmission into neutral first and it went back into 2wd perfectly. This is a workaround I can use but I'm guessing either I'm doing something wrong or there is something broken somewhere.

My wife tried out my 4wd the other day. Drove it about 30 miles 2 days in a row in 4lo at highway speeds. In case your new to 4x4s this is not advised...

4LO at highway speeds? Either your highways are slow as hell, or you have the worst gear ratio ever and that makes it okay.

Actually neither of those. It didn't turn out well for the number 6 rod.

I drove my YJ with a thrown rod for about 20mi on the highway before I noticed the noise over my stereo. Zero oil pressure, but she was still running strong.

when in doubt, 4hi.
I can replace a tcase, not my life.

Plus if it ever craps out then I have a good excuse to throw a 242 in
