I need some please.

The one time I unwound the rope on my new 12k lb. Badlands winch it was a a problem to get it spooled up again. How ever there wasn't much tension on the line at the time. Even if I pull my Cherokee up a small grade in our driveway I have trouble imagining how it would go from one side to the other neatly. I did get it wound up that on time but to get it out again I had to remove two of the rods that hold the thing together because it would not remain wound on the spool from the first rewind.
1. Will the tension from the jeep do that automatically?

2. will the rope try to unwind itself again?

yeah it should wind neatly as long as you have some tension on the line. are you using steel or synthetic line, and do you have a roller fairlead or hawse fairlead? roller for steel, hawse for synthetic.

you should be able to get it wound neatly with just holding the wire by hand. if you have steel cable, be sure to always use gloves.

the other thing i have done in the past was go to a parking lot and hook to another vehicle or tree or whatever is strong enough, and with a couple clicks on my parking brake, winch the jeep up to the anchor point, making sure the cable is laying nicely.

i've also hooked to a cinder block or heavy object if i had nothing around in the yard, and drag that in while laying the cable neatly.
