Some of the sensors will be different, I'm not sure if the transmission electrical would be the same or not. Just swap the engine brackets and sensors from the 97 engine to the 95 and you should be good to go.

All you really want from the 95 is the longblock, all of the 97 stuff will have to be swapped over, like the front brackets, flexplate, exhaust manifold, and sensors. I don't like the idea of cutting and splicing the tranny electrical, too many chances for problems.

And, if you are in a state/county the requires emmisions testing, you may not be able to pass if you dont wire your sensors right and have the correct ECU.

That is why he needs to use all of the 97 stuff on the 95 block.

There will be differences with the sensors and/ or the connectors as '95 is OBDI and '97 is OBDII. The head and the block SHOULD be the same, you should be able to use the intake and exhaust manifolds as well. Its all about the sensors/ connectors. As mentioned above, just use the '95 long block and swap ALL the accessory parts from your '97 motor to the '95 motor. The trans Im not sure about as mine is a 5 speed and I try not to mess with automatics.....

Believe it or not, most of the sensor will plug in. The main changes are the temp sensor (so you will use the '97 thermostat housing) and the power steering pump mounting (you will use the '97 intake, TB, and power steering pump). As for the transmission, it should plug in with the plugs near the firewall. A quick look will tell you for sure. The TCM was changed (smaller size and differnt location) but uses all the same electrical signals. Using the wiring harness from the '97 should be all you need to do to make it work.
