Why so serious? My cat doesn't like pet carriers, THATS WHY!

Maybe you could put a litter box in the rear floor board while driving and the front floor board at night. Just thinking maybe it wouldn't slide there and would be out of the way - cheap too. We have and love our cats as well. You guys deserve a medal after having to deal with some of these members over a simple question.

Or you could live in a storage unit for a couple months and avoid this whole issue. Gives more room for the cat and you and your significant other.

Keep traffic in and out to a minnimum, eat out or in, use toilets where you can find them and use the local y or college gym for showers... it was a serious suggestion not one in jest.

Its my plan if I fail to acquire a job after college that will support normal expenses and my loan payments. Its not pretty. Its not great. But it beats living in a tent and it beats living in a car.

Between all the bs post in your last two threads their were some good ideas given to you. I think if the reason for the litter box would have been sed up front this would have been taken better. I hope everything works out for y'all good luck.

I issued a warning in the last thread. Now 30 day vacations will commence. As sad as it may be the leel of ignorance and inmaturatity I saw over this issue is truly sad.

I got my cats used to being in a carrier by leaving it out all the time with the door taken off and a pillow (and toys) inside. It became just another bed to them after that. All I had to do was put the door back on when I took them somewhere. I made sure to get a good-sized carrier to start with, since my original cat was over 15 pounds. Now both of my smaller ones can fit in it at least long enough to get where I'm going. I have a large wire cage for them if they need to stay confined longer-term (one of them had hip surgery and there was plenty of room for a small litterbox and bed in there with him)

You can also buy some stuff at pet stores to relieve stress. I bought some in a pump for their beds/carriers and in a paste for them directly. It might help a little but cats really don't like being in cars that much and there's only "so" much you can do about it.

I'd still suggest you find the kitty another home until you're settled but if you insist on putting him/her through this, then the above tips might help to ease the feline tension.

I remember one of my neighbors (who is retired) trying to take their cat with them on a vacation... They where basically chasing the cat the whole time as it would try to run out the door every chance it got... and they have a large motor home.

Cats don't do well in closed spaces. They get board easily and will become very restless. A car, truck, Jeep should be a very temporary vessel to keep a cat. Your cat may adapt to living in your Jeep but he/she will be very resistant to the idea. How are you going to keep him/her in the Jeep with doors opening and if you ever have to roll down a window? I'll tell you this...if he/she is anything like my cat was after a trip to the vet the nanosecond after you crack the rear hatch open he/she will haul *** out of there.

When the three of us lived in the Jeep before, Angel was fine. The only time she ever got out and actually ran was in the Baltimore-Annapolis Airport when my husband was still working there. that was fun lemme tell you. So yea. She got used to living in small spaces.

I just had an epiphany! My dog had a crate that we never used when he was a puppy. we got it to crate potty train him but he had 1 accident in the house the first day and after that he was fine so anyways, we had bought a plastic carrier. it came unassembled . the bottom was like a little tub and the top was the biggest part. It was like 30$. You could use the bottom of ona those to put the litter box in! then strap the bottom down and that's it!

Thanks for the suggestion, we will look into that one. so use the tie down hooks in the back of the Jeep and also use bungee cords.

Thank you, we are hoping for the best. Hoping that we can finally be at peace. I have a laptop that we will use once we become homeless on the first. But its alright because we are turning the Jeep into a mobile home, it will be nice. I will post pictures of it as the progress is made.
