Yeah it sucks that your XJ got impounded. Yeah it sucks that there was an idiot driver blocking the road. But really?!? First, there are idiot drivers EVERYWHERE. I grew up in Michigan, now living in Virginia Beach, and I honestly think most of them live here. But, just 'cuz THEY'RE an idiot doesn't mean YOU have to be one. Second, I wheel A LOT and I still care about the exterior of my XJ. I like having a capable vehicle and using it to it's full extent, but also having it look sharp. Hitting someone's car (mark or not) and driving off is illegal. Plain and simple. It's disrespectful, shows no maturity on your part, and it gives other off-roaders a bad image. Third, this is fmaily-friendly forum. Keep your post clean. I'm not a moderator but I appreciate what they do to keep this the best forum I'm a part of. Just my .02. Well, .03 if you're counting each point.

This is unfortunate for both parties but being careless is as bad as being inconsiderate. I guess with age and children comes wisdom. One kid hits the other for looking at them funny, both are wrong but guess who took it just a step too far.

You hit another vehicle with yours while driving.......You then kept driving while the car you hit was following you trying to flag you down....... You commited a hit and run.

Yeah it was nothing major but technically you broke the law. You should have pulled over and called the police while staying in your Jeep until they came.

I had some Idiot clip my mirror on my old Grand Am in a parking lot while I was inside. It looked like just a tiny scuff of green paint that would rub off but It turns out they cracked the mount and the mirror would not adjust anymore it just flopped around. That little hit cost me 30 bucks at the Junkyard for a new mirror. I dont even want to know what a modern power/heated mirror assembly would cost to replace. Had I seen them do it I would have called the cops while chasing them down.

Hit and runners deserve what they get and then some.

I understand the OP's frustration, but I think that he should have just honked and hi-beamed the crap out of her. The OP's frustration is that the other driver was taking up both lanes and "ghetto" looking, and probably did not want a confrontation, some parts of the RGV, if you flash ur lights to the wrong car, ur gonna get somethin'. So, that being said, just follow the rules when ur on the road, no matter what the situation and bring hell on earth when ur off-road!!!

You guys down in the rgv will get more then something, sometimes go will disappear and no one will find you again.

I worked all over down there for a few years. They don't like white people either so I had to be extra careful in some areas.



I would've held the horn or got out and got in someone's face. You probably don't want to do my ways though, my wife says I will get killed one of these times.

I agree. You just need to choke it down and let this go. Retaliation is only going to land you in jail again or maybe even worse.

If you spent your time retaliating against every half wit you encountered you would get nothing else done. There are just too many of them. Better to just do your best to avoid them

I think this thread has run it's course. The OP sees clearly what the majority think of his actions.. nothing more needs to be said.. no more piling on.
