Question Who or what made u get your first JEEP???

As for my short but sweet story...My girlfriend which is now my wife some how got pregnant so to pay bills I sold my very nice lifted 06 chevy avalanche and bought my first JEEP and I had always liked the Cherokee XJ bc my mom had one back when I was a kid & I had always keep my eye on them so I shopped around on ebay, craigslist & local car lots until I bought my bone stock cherry red 2000 XJ Sport back in Oct 2010 WHICH I don't plan on ever selling lol.

Back in the late 90's I needed a small pickup. My boss's friend had a beat up MJ that I paid like $500 for It was a 4 cylinder 2wd with a 4 spd manual. It was black with that stupid white stripe graphics on the side that was checking and falling off. It had a big home made ladder rack on it too. It was a mess but it worked great. I had it for about 6 months before I sold it for something nicer.

Have been driving american cars and trucks for the last 40 years now. About 6 years ago I got tired of being stuck in the snow in wintertime with my Dodge B250 wagon with limitslip diff and strated looking for a good 4 wheel drive. An always liked the AMC 6 cyl engines and the looks of the XJ the choice was easy, I got an -90 Limited grey with grey interior. Then I decided I needed a pickup truck with 4 wheel drive also, so I got an -88 MJ red with grey interior. And then it got crazy and I got a few more XJ & MJs. Perfect for use in wintertime. I still have a few other american cars and trucks that I use but the Jeep are the best daily drivers so far.

My first jeep came about when I was 17 when I had a nissan pathfinder and wanted to get something better offroad. So I sold the nissan to my sister and bought a 97 TJ 4 cylinder. Yes it was fun but not was I wanting all in all. So went through a few other vehicles (protege, and a dakota) then bought a 99 XJ when I got back from Iraq had to sell it pretty quickly due to some external issues and bought an integra (decent daily but no jeep). Finally found out a buddy of mine was selling a slightly modded 95 2 door 5 speed. I love this jeep it is amazing. I encourage everyone I know who is talking about getting a SUV to get a jeep.

Have a fleet of XJs where I work, just kind of fell in love with them while I serviced and test drove them. More fun to drive than a Mazda MX5 in my opinion.

no doubt, and remember she is now your kids mom ... !!!

My first Jeep was in '93, I wanted to establish credit and was tired of buying $800 cars to get me through.... So I picked up an '88 MJ from a lot for $5900 had 70k I drove it til '99 and sold it to my brother with 190k + ran like a top adn never had anything more then a cracked exhaust mani replaced other than maintenance...

I've had a lot of trucks since then and still rate that as the best...
