Default Who makes softer coil springs??

I'm going long arm soon and like a lot of guys I'm running Bilstein 5150's front and 5125's or 5100's. I'm so incredibly fed up with the way my xj rides I'm trying to go the softest route for on road driving. I'm sick of having my kidneys rattled by the paint strips going through intersections. I want my rig to float down the road when I'm done.

So who makes front coils in the softer flavor? I've heard Rusty's coils are nice and soft...........please feel free to chime in

I have RC coils on mine now and all i want to do is take a torch to them. I'm going with RE leafs in the rear as well but they don't make a 6.5" coil unfortunately.

Rusty's springs are some of the softer springs. Their heavy duty ones aren't though, so make sure you order the correct ones.

Wait, Wait, Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait!

Answer a few questions please.
What is your current lift height?
What is the valving of the shocks?

Even without the answers I'm going to say don't do anything until you have replaced your short arms with long arms.

And don't forget to check out Serious Longarms!!!

And that's the other thought i had too. I'm definitely going to have a winch bumper and winch on the front.......so would i sacrifice ride quality if i went with the HD coils or would the added weight of the bumper and winch even that out?

Current height Is 4.5" although probably 4" by now. Shock valving........heck if i know just RC nitros that are only a couple of months old. They actually sent me TJ front shocks claiming that it was the same valving i needed for my XJ. They wouldn't replace them with the ones i ordered so i said the hell with those guys.

Frank....no worries you already have my long arm order you just don't have it in your hands quite yet!!!

TJ and XJ dampening requirements are different.

My recommendations are as follows:
RE 4.5" coils
Bilstein 255/70 valved shocks

These, coupled with long arms will give you phenomenal ride quality.

As you suggested per our phone conversation a couple months ago the Bilstein 255/70 valved shocks coupled with your LA kit with RE leafs and boomerang shackles because I'm going to 6.5". Unfortunately RE only makes a 5.5" coil and I'd rather not add spacers. I'd like to find a great 6.5" coil to pair with it.

Keep in mind that RE springs ar always taller than the advertised height.

Adding a 1" spacer up front (if needed) won't hurt a thing....Seriously.

the long arms are going to be the difference here, more than any "softer spring". Otherwise, a 4x4 isn't what you need, sell it and buy a caddy

I run a long arm with Deaver Springs front & rear.. And the ride will make a caddy jealous.. Rides great at speed or slow.

Do you know the spring rate of your front coils by chance?

I'm long arm with IRO 200lb spring and it rides smooth and handles very well. Springs are not your issue, its the 4+ in lift with short arms
