Default Where is the last XJ ever produced?

Does anyone have history on the last XJ to ever roll off the assembly line? I'd be very curious to see if it's still in operation, or if it's sitting in some collectors garage.

Thanks for any leads y'all have!

I bought a brand new limited XJ in late 2001. The paint had issues with flecks of rust coming through. After having the dealer repair it twice, I sold it. It probably and sadly rusted out.

I believe this is the last one. This picture was taken at a Camp Jeep event in 2003 in Virginia.

It’s a 60th Anniversary model. Maybe not top trim, but significant.

I would be an enormous fan if they brought back our XJ's... as they should. Like what Chip Foose's idea of what a modernized XJ could look like.... heck ya!

They're allegedly releasing an I6 in some of their models, but it's a Hybrid

And it will have 675 pounds of computer bits in it for traction assist, hill descend, seat belt tension, blind spot, front cam, rear cam, lane keep, distance keep, auto brake, headlight dim, mirror dim, auto wipers, auto lights, etc.

Just like my 300 where the climate controls and door locks and windows stop working if there is a problem with the radio. If I had the memory seats in mine, I hear they stop working with the radio as well. That 300 will be at the crusher 25 years before my Jeep because any single computer bit that fails (which they quite making or keeping in inventory 8 years ago) will total out the car.

This is the WGMG thread, right?

And that there my friend...I concur... is one of the many things that make our old XJs great... the sheer lack of most of that modern stuff. Sometimes old-school is the best school. I've always said the more gadgets a vehicle has, the more stuff that can and will break down the road on it.

I'm assuming it went to a dealer, where it either got sold just like any other XJ, or kept in their collection. The VERY last XJ's were made in China by BAW (Beijing Auto Works) about a decade ago, but they have a different front end, and a modified interior. Fun Fact: BAW ALSO made the Grand Cherokee WJ for a bit after they got discontinued here.
