had a wrongler... went looking for a trailblazer with a buddy... happened to see my xj sitting in the dealership lot... one look inside I needed the price. Two weeks of fighting with them on price I drove it home..... six minutes after getting home I had ordered my lift.

I found mine at an auction. 2001 XJ with 56,000 miles. Blown head gasket, warped head, bad power steering pump. The XJ had been parked for several years because it would not run.

Drinking beer with a new friend at his house. Out of the blue he says, "You want to see my Jeep I'm trying to get rid of?" I say "YES!" He didn't know but I had been looking for a good deal on one for three YEARS. After seeing it I knew I HAD to have it, but it was in such good shape I thought he was going to ask $1500 for it. Next he says, "I'll hand it over to you for $200." I couldn't believe it! The next day I gave him the money before he changed his mind!

^^ Lmao.
My last XJ - Woke up one morning, laying in bed thinking about how much I hated my YJ. Made a cup of coffee, and hopped on Craigslist. Came across an ad for it posted that morning, no description, no picture, just a number. Figured what the heck, called. He lived 2 hours away. Got in the car and headed up out of boredom, and when I got there, fell in love. Former police vehicle, he bought at auction for his daughter. She told him it was uglier then sin and she wouldn't be caught dead in it, so it sat in the back of his garage for 2 years. The next day I sold my YJ for stupid cheap, took the cash straight to him and picked up the XJ. 1997 with 80k miles, perfect condition, $2500. Best vehicle I've ever owned.
This XJ - My buddy bought a $500 XJ. He then felt the tranny was on its last legs, and a bought another XJ for parts for $300. After driving it, all the parts rig needed was an exhaust, so he put a o.e one on, and replaced the original tranny separately. Then, debating on which one had more gas, that's the one he took to work everyday. He was also building a sand rail, and I had got a bonus from work. I called him up and simply said "Sell me one of the Jeeps." He said no way in hell. Okay. Two days later he called asking $900, I countered with $500, we settled on 6 since thats what he had into it, and now it sits in my garage.

My dad was sitting in the ditch up north while my buddy and I were running the woods for deer. The guy pulls up to my dad and asks him how he likes his truck because he was in the process of buying a truck just like his(2007 F150). The conversation went on and the guy started telling him about how he needed to sell his XJ so he could pay for the truck. My dad knew I was looking for an XJ so he told him that I would stop by after I got done running woods. About 30 minutes later I went and saw it, took it for a test drive and from there it was history. $4000 later I had a 1998 XJ with 142,000 miles.

i was sitting on my computer on cherokee forum, my dad came in from town and said " hey i past a black 91 limited says make offer", i jumped in my moms car and went and looked at it right then! Called the guy the next day and offerd him 500, now she's mine
Craigslist. Happy I got it but not happy I was lied to about the transmission slipping (I thought I felt some slipping on my way home) Now just need snow tires now
Found mine on Craigslist: I was looking for a jeep for a while,(tired of cars) since I used to own a 74 ScoutII back in the days, did a comparison and search on the Net with few models of SUVs jeeps (all kind) on actual prices, gas millage and parts availability (Build up Kits). Another thing was that I want it 2 Doors, 4 Cyl, 5 Speed (I just like the style of it). So i start to browse and search on the Net for a while, until I found one that i like, about an hour away from Miami in WPB, the guy wanted $2,300, I went to look at it, Took it for a Drive, it was in perfect condition, everything work, no leaks any ware (180,000 on clock) offer the guy $1,800 he agree and went the next day and got it,, so the transformation started, is my DD

I posted a wanted ad on another jeeps forum. (didn't know about this one yet) The "Super Moderator" there messaged me saying his neighbor across the street had one sitting in his driveway since January 2009. (we were in October 2009 then) He said he could go talk to him, since I was an hour away from there and wasn't sure if it was for sale. Ended up he wanted to get rid of it for 500$ so I went to see it and 2 weeks later it was mine. All the ones for sale had over 160,000 miles and all rusted out. Well this one had only ~110,000 miles for a 1992 and the rockers/uni-body were good. I'm still happy with it.
Found my first 91 in a local trader mag for $900 some older guy had bought it at a auction to use as a farm truck. Got that for $800 with 220,xxx on the clock. It donates parts now to a 91 Briarwood that I got off Craigslist for $400 with 226,xxx that was in better condition then the $800 jeep but Oooohwell. Gotta love Craigslist.......
