Where can I hide my CB?
I have an old Uniden CB radio, and I have been trying to find a decent place to mount it, but the dash is chock-full of wiring. I thought of hiding it in the center console, but the heaters are in the way... Any suggestions?

I thought about that, but i'm 6'2", and I would smack my head on it bouncing back and forth. Plus I have the key fob module above my mirror. I had a couple of places in mind, but every time I remove part of the dash, wiring and heater ***** is in the way. I thought about moving the radio deck out, but I don't know where i'd put it...

I was considering that, but I would probably get a "cell phone" ticket... New York sucks for police, but is fantastic for mud.

The typical places to mount are between sun visors, along the transmission tunnel on passenger side, or under the dash below the steering wheel. Since I don't have a center console I made a cup holder/CB mount to go between the seats.
However if you are wanting to "HIDE" the CB your best option may be to buy a Cobra 75 WX, if you had the money. All the controls are in the mic. The main box can be mounted darn near anywhere (under seat for example). I have an older version and the mic cord is like 6' long. You would be able to just unplug the mic and stow it and besides the CB antenna nobody would know you had a CB installed, they would probably think the antenna was just for looks.

what do you plan on using it for? talking to others on trail rides? truckers? if just for trail rides i would go with a vhf marine radio. most are 100% waterproof and smaller than a cobra classic. plus the range compared to a CB in amazing. just my 02.
i have a vhf and so does a couple of friends and i'll never go back to a CB.
only downside is you can't talk to people with cb's. just vhf.

i ran mine like this guy ^...except instead of the transmission tunnel, i mounted it to the bottom of the dash right and it's not in the way of any of my passengers under 6'5"...however its just a small little cobra instead of that huge thing haha...sounds like under the seat is your best bet with a "do-all" mic, i like that idea

Someone stole my tape deck a while back (who steals a tape deck?!). My plan is find a tiny radio that will fit in there with it.
