Default wheel size question

i just bought a 2000 xj and picked up some 235-75 bfg at's. now im looking to get some wheels for it, but unsure what size to get i was thinking maybe 15x7 or 15x8 with a backspacing of 4.75. i was wonder if either one of these would rub the front bumper at all. right now im at stock height, but want to do a 2'' lift. if anyone has any pictures of the setup that would be great.

Thanks

My buddy has 235-75-15's on his and he never has rub issues. Beautiful XJ 95Cherokee, I love the Red XJ's!

I was wondering more about the wheels I've already have the bfg's on my jeep with stock wheels. I was looking at cragar or pro comp wheels in either 15x 7 or 8 with a backspacing of 4.75 and was wondering if I moved them out further if when I turn would the front tires rub on the front bumper.

thanks

When I bought my xj it was bone stock w/ wore out suspension and it had factor 16x7. something. I dont remember for sure but i remember it was slightly wider then 7 inches. I had 235/75/16 on mine and i didn't have any rubbing. So you should be fine. But if you are planning on ever lifting your jeep and using the same wheels, when you go to bigger tires you will need some type of offset or it will srub when your tires are full locked. but for your situation now you should be fine.

If you have your tires already, the width of the rim, isnt as much of a factor (as long as the tire can be safely mounted on the rim) because the tires are going to bulge out regaurdless. it will be the tires scrubbing, not the rims.

I added this for your last question. Be more concerned with it scrubbing ther rear section of the front fender when you turn, not the front, it is more common that they scrub in the rear, tearing your front flares all tp peices.

Thanks for the info. So you think 15x7 with a backspacing/offset of 4.75'' will fit without any trimming ? I'm not going to be doing any serious offroadong where I'm gunna flex a bunch. I'm just worried about turning pretty much

Sorry I meant 3.75'' backspacing. I want a little more aggressive stance.
