As someone who has not had the joy of going to the junk yard yet (gasp) I was wondering what you all take to be ready when you find what you need.
Especially those of you who use Crazy Rays.
PB Blaster OK? torch for heating bolts? What works and what is legit to take in with you.
CRs is not to far from me but I know there is more than one location.
I would guess it is pretty much a crap shoot as to inventory of vehicles but does that change often, meaning if I went this week would I see pretty much the same thing next week? How often would things change to worth it ( I do realize they get a few new cars everyday but trying to figure out how often would be worth it)?
Just want to be prepared as I have two vehicles that need things.
Thanks for your ideas.

Full set of tools, sawzall, impact wrench (the JY I go to lets you drive in, and I've got onboard air and an inverter for 120v). Good to be prepared lol.
I do a walk through first, then if i find somthing i want, i go back with the tools that parts requires. I would never drive through the yard at a jy. I worked at the nations biggest chain jy and the yard would pop your tires.

I take my chances I guess, the paths through the yard are kept relatively clutter free, never had a problem. It's about a quarter mile by a third mile large according to google earth, so pretty big.
Right on, we had a hard time picking up all the little jagged crap laying around.

Floor jack, bottle jack, and jack stands. (Usually the wheels are the first things people go for.)
Flat cardboard box to work on, instead of the mud and weeds. Liquid wrench penetrating oil to fight the NY rust.
