Alex I'll take engines that just wont die for 500

 

I have over 312k miles on mine. The jeep mechanic who's old school jeep told me the engine is pretty much bullet proof. I can't say enough about this jeep. I'm saddened by the New jeeps engines and styles. I watched it come off the truck in 98 at Lou's Jeep Eagle in Geneva Illinois with my father. She had under 5 miles on the dash. He filled it with premium and changed oil at 3k miles every time, sold it to me six years later and it's 2014 and runs like a champ. I refuse to buy another car, my wife has an Acura that costs more than I can justify and while luxurious and quiet, she still had to hitch a ride with me when the snow hit hard in Chicago. I've replaced nothing with engine or tranny, just wear items. Recently oil pan nut was stripped out, got new pan..rear main leaked once at around 250k..tires, brakes, battery, radiator blew up but it was like 90 and humid stuck in heavy traffic with air conditioning(still freezes you out) on..went off like a bomb! My buddy just bought a new wrangler Sahara...I was just SHOCKED at the lack of power and torque..there is only one real jeep and it's not on the car lots anymore, it's in my garage!

 

Meticulously maintained by original owner with receipts. 230 thousand. I got and pushed it. Kept it well maintained. #1 locked up.

 

My '91 has just over 279,000 miles on original motor. I'm the third owner and with the paperwork that I have, pretty much just fluids, tuneup and a very few wear items.

 

My '94 has 254,000. Changed the head gasket but otherwise no major engine or trasmission work. Been through multiple starters, alternators, water pumps, etc though.

 

Last posted in 2011, that was way back down the road.
Friday, Feb 7th, 2012 the Peep rolled past 660000km, 409000+ miles.
Runnin strong? Well like me she gets her aches and pains.
Rewarded her with a fresh starter relay and starter. We should be good till 800 say 2017?
Settin a goal at 1 million by 2020. Appears regular oil and filter service has an effect.

 

My 98 has 135,000 miles. Guess it's just now starting to get broken in lol

 

Dad's ZJ had 410k miles when he cash for clunkered it. Unfortunately I didnt get a pic before it died
