I'm buying some 33s. Forget price. I just want to know which is the best a/t tire to buy for milage and off road. My xj is a DD so I'm looking for good wear and decent off road traction. I'm not too worried about mud...mostly rock, sand and dirt/street.

I'm not a fan of BFG ATs but if you spend a lot of time in the sand they are a good tire (IMO about all they are good for is sand) also stay away form nittos they wear like crap and when they get to about 1/2 tread they slip a lot in the rain

Yeah nittos I've heard melt off of tucks and jeeps. I hear good things about bfgs....about 90% positive and 10% negative...idk lol.

If you worry about wear get the tires siped that makes them last longer better grip and quieter

*May void warranty

Gives tires better wet traction though.

"Microsiping can dramatically improve tire traction in rain and snow. However, microsiped tires may also have increased road noise and tire wear when operated on dry surfaces"

If you're looking for a nice set that are affordable too, I would go with Kumho. The tred on mine last forever and I got a good deal.

I hate these threads because there will be so many different answers, you're not really coming up with an answer at all. But that being said, I like Bridgestone and Michelin for how long they wear, but they are pricey.

I run 33" BF A/T, not a bad tire for what they are. Great if you do alot of road driving, but they have gotten me through every trail at Rausch Creek that 35" km2's have gone through
