Thats a vaccuum canister. when I took my bumper off i broke off the canister and put a cap on it. You dont really need that big thing on there. But make sure you seal off the end with something though.

Yeah, you gotta take that bumper off to get to it... fortunately the used car dealer topped it off before he sold it to me, so I don't have to mess with it for a few more months.. Does anyone know whether I should use DOT 3 or 5 brake fluid for this??

Default vacum canister

it might be called a vacum breaker, but the lines run into fire wall. It might be used for vacum doors under dash. moves doors from defrost, vent and floor. Thats my guess.

its mainly kinda helps with emissions from what i read. when i got my xj, it was already broke in 5 pieces, i just literally stuck a cork in the tube to kill the CEL and it has been running good ever since

X2... Some guys relocate it, some guys loose it. If this is your DD I would put it under the hood some place.

Nice set up above!! I have heard from many people that when they removed the cannister they lost the use of doors in dash to change from vents to defrost etc... I have not touched mine i still have stock bumpers so i do not know hands on.
