What you'd pay for this XJ?
the euro plate means nothing my buddy paid the dot to get euro plates on his Passat. i always go and look at the car be4 i offer the seller anything because u can't get the feeling of how much something is worth with out seeing it in person.

man, being a local for the detroit area like you are, i've heard tons of BS stories from sellers on CL. honestly, it sounds more like a desperation story to me. i honestly would say see if he'll take $1,500 for it, and don't go over $2k. if not, walk away from it. i've seen newer ones with under 100K miles, with original drive train, go for about $3k. this thing is on 200k miles, replaced motor, and needs the rear suspension done... you'll be lucky if that's only what needs replacing.

I wouldnt do that yet. Tell him you want to come test drive it. If he says oterwise the deal's off.
