Not true, it was totaled at some point in its life then properly fixed and inspected before the title was reissued as a salvage or rebuilt title. My grandfather made a living doing that and I work at a body shop now that also buys totals and fixes them to resell, the fact that it has a salvage title tells me personally that the repairs were actually made properly and there is nothing to worry about as far as that goes. Imho I'd put a XJ that clean looking and new with reasonable mileage like it has at $3500-4000, if it were mine and you offered me $1500 I'd laugh at you in all honesty.

Around here... a vehicle with a salvage title is automatically worth 1/3 it's actual value. No way around it.
I'd offer 1k and see what happens.

I definitely call BS on that one, I've owned 5 vehicles thus far with "salvage" titles and neither one have been insured any different then any vehicle I've owned that were not salvage titled. One of those 5 got totaled again while I owned it and I got the check from it just like normal.
It depends who did the repairs and if the state really inspects the car or not,Kentucky will only do a inspection if the car is from out of state. When i tagged a car that sat for 10 years with out one nothing was asked just pay and go.Insurance depends a lot on the agent on if they will or won't insure it ask your agent before buying one to know up front.

You can dream but more than likely he wont even entertain your offer. "please be reasonable with offers" lol he can part out the lift and tires for $1500. I would offer $3k and even that is a little on the bargain side.

If I ever scrap a Jeep, I'll eat my hat. But you get what I'm saying.
