I just got another 99 xj. I already have a 99 cherokee sport. This one I just got is an se I believe. I popped the hood earlier and noticed there were more things under the hood. I have attached pictures. One, what is the part next to the brake fluid reservoir with the lines going into it and 2, what is the thing above the battery? My other 99 does not have these. I'm sorry if these are dumb questions, I'm just not familiar.

Is it just me or do those battery cables, negative coming from the ground on the block and positive coming from the PDC to the battery, look a little thin?

 

The wires are thin. One of the best upgrades you can do is battery cables and terminals.
