how do i find out what size rear i have? yes i feel stupid for asking but... gott a know

Rear axle...?

You can either call a dealership with your VIN, and they should be able to look the info up. Or you can measure the diameter of the rear axle.

D35 is...2-3/4", I think? And the Chrysler 8.25" is 3".

You have a '89 Wagoneer right?

You either have a D35 or a D44.

Most '89 Waggy's I've seen have the D44

Take a picture of your rear and we can tell you exactly what you have. There was a picture floating around here of all the different differential covers, but I can't seem to find it. If I do, I'll post it up here.

Nice to see a local. I'm right over the mountain in Bangor. If you need some parts for that rig let me know my store is 10 mn from watergap and you'll have to do some wheelin with us if your into that .
