Depends on year condition and mileage and location. I bought my old 95, 4wd, 150k miles for $2500 in 2002. And I bought my current 99 with 170k miles in 2007 for $4000. Around here I would not pay over $3000 for a 96 or older and no more an $4500 for a 97 and newer.

Depends...

Here's the info you'd wanna pass on for any of us to give our opinions.

Year, mileage, current issues, how much rust is on it.

Things to look for- floor pan and rocker rust, unibody rail damage, fluid conditions...I'd say those are the big 3.

Good luck and welcome to the forum!

Do not buy a basketcase for cheap and think you'll save money if you fix it up, you will spend about twice as much as you would for a clean runner.

Don't do it, they are a money pit. Good thing about them though is they are real simple to work on and parts are cheap. Look for a 96 or older, they have the squared off body style.

There is a 1974 Jeep Cherokee two door with a 360 in it for sale in Cleveland Ohio for five grand, if I had the money....anyone want to lone me five grand? We can share the truck.
