What should I do next???
So I have a 99xj with a 4.5 RC lift and 31's. What should I do next? I don't have any armor, so keep that in mind and I have some drive line vibes. I already have recovery points. As far as the TC skid goes, I have a TC drop so I am a bit concerned how a TC skid would fit without the SYE.

the vibes might just be driveshaft u-joints, but i'd also take care of them next.
but also grab at least a t-case skid. stock one is fine for a few bux from a junkyard. gas tank skid would be my next move.
then gears and lockers, etc.
sye isn't that expensive, and it's a great mod too. and yes, you will need a new rear driveshaft. you can get away with a front driveshaft from a pre 00 auto xj.

Thanks guys for the advice. May be a good direction to go especially if I can find a front shaft from a junk yard.
So any pre 00 front shaft will work?

from an automatic.
00 and 01 xj front shaft may work, but may be a bit longer due to the fact they're low pinion.

Well I listened to everyone. Iron Rock hack n tap kit with front shaft on order. I am going to try to fab up something to protect my TC at least temporarily until I decide to put more money into this.

good choice. if you can, find a good scrap metal dealer near you to get material to make the skids with. usually you can find good thick metal there versus searching high and low at other places.

yeah, I'd go with the SYE myself. My brother lifted his, had a vibration in it afterward, and within a year threw the driveshaft. He was miffed for a while, because it took him 2 months to get all the parts to fix it again. If he'd done it right away it would have taken him maybe 2 days, and no damage to the Jeep. Just my $.02
