Ok well I should be getting some cash from insurance and I want to put some back into my XJ. She sits 21.75 inches from center hub to factory flare so im somewhere around 3.5 inch lift. Right? Well I want new LCA and I was thinking new Track bar but I have heard so many different things. What do you guys think.

did you measure from the front fender flare or rear?
if you're gonna get a track bar, get one with a relocation bracket. mine creeks like a mf on the factory bracket. also, i know it can get expensive, but i'm starting to wish i had bought a long arm kit. i rode in my buddy's 4.5 long arm lift XJ and I can tell some difference in ride quality. i don't know how different it would feel offroad.

It is even front and rear at 21.75 inches from center of hub to fender flare. So my rear is higher then my front. So Im kinda still lost on how high I really am. I have heard that it should be 18 in the front and 17.5ish in the rear stock. Is that right? I was thinking just get new LCAs but not really sure what ones. I think I wanna go with rubicon Because I have there springs up front. lol I just dont know how long to get them. I was thinking just the ones that come with there 3.5 inch lift would be fine.

you could always get adjustable lower control arms, an adjustable track bar with a drop bracket would be good too.

I was thinking ajustable arms incase I wanted to go higher. But it seems like all the arms I have found go from 4 to 6 inch lift and same with trac bars. Could I use the stuff for a 4 inch lift sense in almost there or would it hurt it more than it would help.

to measure accurately your lift.

measure from the top of the axle (the actual tube, nothing else) to the bottom of the "frame rail"

front stock is 6.75"
rear stock is 6"

you can get an accurate measurement from those readings.

I would suggest long arms completely!

but short arms are nice, IronMan4x4 (a vendor here) makes REALLY beefy adjustable control arms.

Also RE adjustable control arms are pure beef!

i think, drop in 2005 H.O. CumminsTurboDiesel motor and just plow thru things rather than worry about going over.

Ok I measured it and im getting 10.5ish in the front and 10.875 (7/8ths) in the rear.I was thinking if I did it right then im only 3.75 inchs in the front I could throw in some spacers. I have 1.5 inch spacers laying around but that may make me sit higher in the front than the rear. I would rather be higher in the rear.

keep in mind, higher rear means sye or vibrations. tc drop bracket only does so much.

I wanna keep the rear where it is just bring up the front anout half an inch. Then I can get LCAs and Track bar in the 4 to 6 inch range. right?

i don't see why that wouldn't work. as i said, get the track bar drop bracket. your XJ will thank you for it.

So you get a drop bracket and a new bar or keep the bar I have now and just the bracket? Sorry for the redundent qustions. lol Now how strong are the long arms? Doesnt that make it like a 3 link and not 4.

there are some companies that make a longer lower control arm that comes with a bracket and it mounts on the frame right about transfer case level. but yeah, most big companies make an integrated control arm the mounts the upper control arm on a bracket on the lower control arm. and you would also need to get a new tc crossmember that has a bracket on it for the control arm mount.
i don't see you running into any trouble with keeping the stock trackbar and installing a drop bracket. but the aftermarket trackbars are usually heavier and adjustable. i got rough country and i wish i would have gotten the drop bracket.

with your lift i would run 1the control arm length for a 4.5" lift. The extra inch or two forward wont hurt anything and centers the wheel more and provides a sightly better ride
