That's what you get for trying to save a Ram. I hope you learned your lesson.

And I bet the "reciever hitch" was rated at something like V5 from the factory too, LOL. It happens but not nearly as bad as some of the mishaps that are captured in video form on-line. Saw one where they almost literally tore a car in half trying to pull it out of a snow bank.

Okay maybe not in half but they still really jacked it up.

Then there is this one

I'm no mechanic, but I think the lake is the big problem, not the transmission.

it ripped off most likely because you used a chain. the shock factor tore it off.

recovery is a serious job. use the proper equipment. this is not funny at all. somebody could've gotten hurt.

x2 i agree with this. Its always been my saying that if your pulling a chain is fine, if your tuggin always use a strap. I mostly just always use a strap anyways, much easier to stash away in the jeep

that was my first time reuinited with my jeep for 4 months, weekend cost me a trailer hitch, exhaust, a bent to hell bumper, a wheel bearing and a tie rod end. i would have used a strap but it was in the back of my friends ford truck

if your tugging something bigger then you invest in a Bubba Rope they amplify your tugging power
