the liberty's deserve to be in that program. their engines are crap. the one in my sig has a blown motor because hte radiator dumped fluid on the highway. the gauge never moved. alot of people with liberties have had the engine go at 50 to 70k because of build up in the engine. and that was with the oil being changed properly. they look nice and ride nice but the engine is a peice of junk

because here in canada, the average car only lasts 5 years before it's rusted out.

Its a silicone type liquid. They put it int the crankcase so it runs throughout the whole engine so it blows the motor and seizes everything up.

The chemical they used is sodium silicate. Its called liquid glass due to its appearance... It is transparent in appearance and when it solidifies it will look much like a sheet of glass if it layed thin enough. The reason it took so long for some of these motors to quit running is that sodium silicate gets thinner when it is heated. It does not harden until it cools.
And I hate to even mention the Jeeps we saw in the yards this summer from this program. Lets just say it was quite devastating to find a CJ in at one time.
The JY could sell any part of the vehicle that was not lubricated with engine oil.. or the frame of the vehicle.

wow that's horrible I didn't know they did that to the cash for clunker cars, I thought they resold them lol. Hmm now that makes sense why theres so many good jeeps in my local yard with that same orange X on the engine.... Oh well more parts for me
Thats still sad though, what a waste to purposefully kill a good running car...
wow that videos really messed up how happy they get when the engine seizes...
omg now im watching other cash for clunker videos and there blowing up perfect newer trucks and cars??!!! WTH IS THIS?!!?! THIS COUNTRY DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!!!
I never knew thats what they did, is there a group to stone whoever thought up that idea?
