ive only done toyota 4cycl/v6 swaps in other toyota's...but thats besides the fact...i will be having a friend help with the instal when its time, i was just looking for good deals with this engine in it...but washoping it came in some cheaper cars...lol finding an engine like this in one of these cars wont be easy, really gonnahave a hard time, i though they were more common in regular everyday cars, lol

thx for the list...thats exactly what i was looking for

Why do you want an LS engine if you know nothing about it? My brother knows exactly why this swap would be perfect for his FD and still wasn't willing to do it. Did someone else tell you this would be cool so you figured you would give it a shot? And why would you swap a Yota V6 in place of the 4 banger?

i worked at a toyota garage and we swapped about 3 motors a week...toyota engines arent the strongest imo, even though my boss would say otherwise, lol...

but anyways, about the engine...i been looking at different options for an engine swap for my cherokee, anything with huge power(want roughly 400 hp) so i can run my fullsize and be able to spin 44" boggers with ease...i got the axles covered...now im looking for a engine/tranny/transfer case combo that will give me the strength and reliability to hold up to this much power...i was also looking at the 5.3....im just unsure and uneducated when it comes to engine swaps...i mean i can get 350's their relatively common but they are carbs, i want injection...was also looking at strokers..

im open to any suggestions really..nothing set in concrete, just want something that swaps in relatively well (not too many hiccups) and have the power...

400 hp is a simple goal. And quite honestly, in that application, it would be a waste of an LS..

You can get 400 Hp from 4.8 stroker turbo on just 5.5 psi.....

Check into late 80's - early 90's Aluminum Buick V6 (turbo) like the ones used in the Buick Grand National. Back in that time it was common to throw them, In CJ's with a fiberglass body on it. And they would out preform any small block V8. Same amount of horse power, and less weight. The blocks can be updated with modern day compents.

originlly i was lookin at a 4.7 stroker...but i was told if i plan to go that route that i might as well go for a 5.3-5.7, more power stock than a stroker, less weight that a 4.0 stock, and better tranny options for better mpg...

ya im not thinking of going that route...thx anyways

i dont want the stock engine in there, if im going to boost then a bigger engine needs too be put in there first, lol....either stroker or v8...the reason i like the v8 is its got power and torque stock as a 4.7 stroker...so alot more potential...

im open to any suggestions really, i got nothing set in concrete as for the engine powertrain goes...im just looking for power and reliability....after that next best thing is ease of swap..obviously a stroker is the easiest thing to swap as it bolts right in...but a few ppl tried turning me away from strokers saying they are unreliable and i was better with a 5.3...

Lol where are you silly people getting all these turbo dreams from?

An ls1 would be far superior to a turbo Jeep motor. If you want to save money, get an lq9 6.0 from a Chevy hd model. They'll do 400 rwhp with bolt ons and a baby cam easily.
