Default What to do now?

This weekend my buddy and I decided to go up to a xj event close to where I live . Right after rebuilding my rear end .

On the way up my rustys cross over steering decided to fail one of the heims broke causing me to hit the ditch at 45 50ish . Rolled it one and landed on my lid . My buddy and I are fine besides being sore as all hell we both had our seat belts on so we came out fine .

My jeep on the other hand well she's pretty beat up drives side is pretty caved in and my passenger side bottom long arm broke the mount off the axle .

So I'm thinking about just getting all the doors to open and close get most of the dents out interior cage and a exo and make her my trailer queen . Never really planed on it but now it's looking like I have to

That will buff right out lol glad you 2 are alright.

Ive told myself if i do this (on or offroad), i would chop the entire roof off above where the window line is, cage it and make a soft top. I think thats what you should do

I would be contacting a lawyer and make sure Rusty's fixes this issue.

When she was upside down I took a pretty close look at it and even though you can't really tell by eye it didnt look like she was twisted

I've seen heim joints fail many times before, but 95% of them failed because it did not have the proper thread engagement. The other 5% failed because the jam nut/s were loose.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not pointing fingers. I'm just trying to help you determine how it happened.

Also, depending on what type and brand of heim joints these companies use (hopefully not the inexpensive ones) there are a lot of tolerance differences. Which could make for a sloppy fit (So even with the proper thread engagement on the joint and torque on the jam nut, there could still be a failure)!
