What to do with a 2WD XJ
I just got done reading that article and was going to post it but you beat me to it. It's alot of work, but if you have time, patience, a little extra cash, lots of PB Blaster, more patience, and another daily driver you can do it. Myself, I still wouldn't put the time in to doing it unless I got a super cheap deal one that had everything I needed AND it was lifted. I'd rather spend $900 of a lift, track bar ect... than a JY Jeep to get a stock 4wd and then have to pay more for the lift. Just my opinion though. I know how it is to be attached to a vehicle. It all depends how much time and money you want to devote to such a project.
I got a 2 wheel drive and I'm planing to put 2" lift but you no alot of the time all you need is the right tires for mud and if you take a friend with a 4x4 you can be pulled out so so it won't really hold you back at all but ya the 4x4 conversion is a good idea I've considered it sounds like a fun build

Cool! Pics or it didn't happen. hahahaha! How much trouble was it adding the transfer case? Or did you just swap the whole tranny?

Proof lol tranny was already in by this point. But you can see both axles. We just found a set of matching gear ratio axles(3.55)instead of(3.07). This is a manual jeep by the way not to sure if the automatics are different or not. Manuals are though

The best one that won't set you back a ton of money is the CSF 3-core. There is also a slightly cheaper 2-core but given how small an XJ radiator is I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't spend the money on a 3-core.
Last time I checked you could still get the CSF 3-core from Radiator Barn for $165ish shipped.
