Default what Dive shaft to use with AX15 231 combo

I have a AX15 231 combo with 5.5 inches of lift and I was wondering what drive shaft I need to use for the rear. I have heard that I can use a front one from a gc. Is that right?

Really depends. I had to have a V8 ZJ front shaft lengthened and balanced when I did my SYE for my factory AX15, and that's only with a RE 3.5" leaf pack.

IIRC, the V8 ZJ shafts of certain years are the longest OEM shaft that will work, but it still may be too short.

At 5.5", its time for a SYE kit. Dont try to cheap out and run a factory shaft. Get the shaft and SYE from Adams Driveshaft shop and call it a day.

I already have a SYE the problem is I did listen and I bought another jeep that had parts that I needed. it was a two door so the drive shaft that was on it is too short and it will cost me 300 to have it lenghthened and put new splines on it since they worn out.

Most ZJ shafts should work, I run a stock front ZJ shaft with an AA SYE, 5 speed and idk, maybe 5" lift in the rear. I don't remember exactly what ZJ it was ( i want to say 4.0 242 auto, this was about 1.5 yrs ago so I forget)

In all honesty it's a little shorter than I would prefer, but works fine, never had issues.

Also consider your differential, IIRC the 35 has a shorter pinion than the 8.25, meaning you might need more shaft depending on what you have ( I have 8.25)
