I got a heater core and thermostat. Who wants to help me install the heater core?

With a helping hand it shouldn't be that bad. My son and me put a heater core in our '96 fully loaded Blazer. The extra hands do make a difference. Also if it were me I'd remove the seats unless it's a hassle. The ones in my XJ are just std manual ones. I can have both out 5 mins. Good luck to ya though.

Has any one seen the caps with the loops on them? I saved the ones I would find on CJ's I use to be into.

Ya its been about 8 years since I have done one in a XJ so its going to be like doing it for the first time again. I dont think I pulled the seats (mine are stock manual style too) last time but I do remember popping off the steering wheel to help drop the whole column down far enough. I have pictures of how I did it somewhere. If not, I am pretty good at figuring stuff out.

You talking about the caps? Somebody posted these:

https://www.mscdirect.com/browse/tnp...94&cid=af_q218

Said that is a box of 100 for that price.

$12 shipping from msc though. They are around for less.
I prefer the rubber ones, even though they are harder to see.
They seal a bit better, but are still easier to remove.

Yea. I couldn't get the link to open the other day. Mine are like that but look to be of better quality. They're oem ones to though. Ones in the link could be fine though.

New Dorman ignition cylinder & tumblers. I also had a new key made from my VIN at a dealership, and they didn't even bother to verify ownership. Now I know where to go if I find a Jeep I want to steal.

I could pull my key out when the Jeep one running. I figure I better replace it before something bad happened. I bought the Napa Echlin one. Probably a rebranded Dorman. But I did not make it so I could use my original key. The key that came with it is a triangle. Kinda like having 2 keys. Reminds me of all the old school GM's I used to own. Round for the doors and square for the ignition.
