Found that small tube from valve cover to intake was not stopped completely up but just enough to cause oil leak due to lack of vaccum. Front tube had slight pressure on it. Increased hose size to 5/16, juat enough to create small vaccum on larger hose at 2500 rpm. No more oil leak. No smoke out of filler port.

I installed my cb antenna mount yesterday. The rest of the gear will be here friday. What would be a good power source. I was thinking about using the wire that goes to the cig lighter since I don't smoke. The only thing is that circuit isn't on all the time. Only when the ignition is on. I would prefer a circuit that is always on. Any ideas?

Replaced it last night...
Used RayChem solder sleeves with additional shrink sleeves over those. Broke-out a bad stealership splice to the alarm system controller (the one that makes the lights flash when arming/disarming) and connected with an insulated quick connect for future disabling. Everything's working for now. The real test comes with continuous use of headlamps. Did my Hella H4's cause the meltdown or is the hot-lead condition at terminals 2, 4 and 9 a factory fact-of-life?

Im in the same boat, dont know how I want to hook it up. The only thing I dont like about the always on idea is what if I forget to turn the radio off and kill my battery? Is it really the end of the world to have my jeep running to talk on the CB? I dont know about you but I dont plan on sitting in my jeep talking on my cb all day. But idk the CB only puts out 4 watts so it cant be pulling to much power. I guess it boils down to what ever is easiest for me.
Looks good btw

No, cb's don't draw that much power at all. My father in law leaves his on at all times. He does have a blue top, but still. I wouldn't worry about hooking it to power at all times, plus it's nice not to have to have the vehicle on to use the cb. What if you dropped your keys out on a trail ride?..... Just saying, it could happen.

Yeah, if I had a blue top lol.
Yes the convenience of not having to turn the XJ on to talk on the CB would come in handy a few times I am sure but I dont own a blue top(reason to buy one?=D) soooo. Either way really I guess it doesnt matter lol what ever is easiest to get to.
