What did you do to your Cherokee today?
I swapped my old beat up shackles for another stock pair I had laying around that are in almost perfect condition. I also greased my leaf packs while I was at it to get ride of the squeaking.
Then on a whim I checked my T-case fluid...turns out there was hardly anything in it. Fixed that with a quick run to the parts store and then I fixed my cruise control.
all in all a very productive day.
how'd you fix that one?

Long story short the tilt mechanism on my steering column was broken when I bought the XJ, I swapped it out for an Identical one from the junkyard and like an idiot I cut the wire for the cruise control while swapping the lock cylinders.
So I had to use a soldering Iron to solder together 4 tiny little 18 or 20 gauge wires to fix it. IT was a PITA esspecially since it was about 25 out all day.
Took me all day because I was doddling, but definitely worth the effort.
You been using your heat? It probably thawed out after you froze it shut by washing it.

Painted the stock wheels. Not the same as the Black Rocks that I want but a heck of a lot cheaper
Ordered a new set of vacuum hoses (its an 89 there are hoses going everywhere), that will be this weekends project.
Passed up on an adult (i.e. drunk) dodge ball party to paint my wheels, I must be getting old.

Opened packages containing new 5.38 gears that are going into D44's.
New drums, backing plates, brake shoes and hardware for rear 44 were also delivered. Front is done. Just waiting for new ss brake lines.
Now time to start the rebuilding of the rear 44.
