I did ball joints for the first time. Sorry no pics. I only did the drivers side for now, because the passenger side is fine. But that drivers lower was totally loose and shot. It went fairly easy, even while using a Harbor Freight 3in1 style tool. I had to use some fairly large sockets to help with the pressing in and out of the lower but the upper was straight forward.

Finished Wiring the Hella 500s
Changed the AX-15 fluid (K, this looked like it had never been changed, good news: not much metal film on the magnet at all)
Changed the Transfer Case fluid (hardly anything came out at all, good thing ive never used it in 4x4!)
Changed 8.25 rear diff fluid. Eww, again, I would bet that fluid had never been changed it was nasty grey brown black.
All these fluids were probobly never changed before, I know the owner that had it for 100k before me didn't.
SIDE NOTE: my very first post on this form was about a gurgling sound at low RPM. This would seem to go away after 2k rpm, but the odd thing is, it didnt make the sound in neutral or with clutch in, only when "pulling" a load. Well as it has it, changing the transmission fluid and transfer fluid completly got rid of the gurgling sound. Unexpected Benifit Score !

Replaced the headlight switch. I went in from the top. Either way, PITA but a critical little item.

Installed an Alpine receiver, installed some JL Audio 6" speakers in the rear pod.
More importantly I installed new front rotors, calipers and pads, and while I was there I greased the fittings I could find. The PO was clearly an idiot as far as proper car care was concerned, but for 242k this was one of the easiest brake jobs I've ever done, easy setup on the Jeep. All thats left before winter is the tranny and transfer case fluid.
Anyone know if I can convert the 8.25 in the rear to disc breaks? Or is it not worth it, I hate drum brakes.
I've had it now for almost 2 months, I love working on this thing, bloody knuckles and all!
