No. Because your mom is in it and I don't know how to get rid of her after last night.

Not to choose sides but I have a 4,000 lb hoist if you find you're in need...

Remembered I found one of those threaded hatch rods so I'm going to go find what nut will fit it.

No, the little rod that goes from the handle to the actuator in the hatch. The one on my 99 is the non threaded one and it slips every once in a while and then I have to reach down in the plastic of the hatch to open it up then take off the plastic and re adjust it to work right.

right on. Same deal on my 01. I ended up putting some fiber/resin compound on it so it wouldn’t slip. I greased the crap out of the actual latch mechanism too, which takes a lot of stress off the lot rod.

p/n 55075860AB should have a 10-24 thread pitch—I'd recommend a nylock nut and a couple zip ties, just to hold the rod against the clips—preventing it from popping out laterally, as the nut will keep it from slipping "down" ( I don't know which direction it is in my head) so the handle pulls the latch far enough.

christ, please post some pics when you get it dialed in.

So sick of my jank zip-tie + bailing wire setup to try and keep the stupid bracket teeth from slipping off the threaded rod. And having to push the tailgate in while holding 60lbs worth of crap is always aggravating...
