Anyone want a radiator? Now that it's out, I'm not too sure its cracked. The o-rings on all the plugs are toast and there is a good chance thats what was leaking. Doesnt matter. I would rather be safe then sorry.
Nice dude, my original fluid came out like water after 200k miles - previous owner never changed it. Then it came out actually like water after about 20k miles after I forded a river that was a bit deeper than it looked (happens).
Ran 10w30 and 15w40 engine oil for a while, worked OK. But then I put in the MT-90 and my trans shifts super smooth. The motor oil would shear out after 10k miles or so and it would start shifting hard, but the MT90 has been in there for about 20k miles and working great.

No sound from the radio, but I haven't gotten there yet. I only did the speakers since i had the roof apart and was hoping that was a quick fix while i was at it.
Did a compression test over the weekend and that went really well. All 6 cylinders were between 155 and 160. Would have changed the spark plugs while I was there but Autozone gave me the wrong ones, so probably tonight after work...
6.5 speakers need different mounting holes drilled for the rear soundbar. I think I used some short self-tapping screws and they held just fine. Wrap the wires and connectors in foam if they were rattling like mine were! If you have any old pillows, pull some of the polyester stuffing out (or buy some from Walmart, its called Poly Fill) and stuff the enclosure with it to help increase bass response.

Well thank you... Waiting on hooking up the heater core lines until the new radiator goes in. Got to recharge the ac too since I had to split the lines to get everything out.

Yeah... I've never asked that question. Didn't take me long to put 2 and 2 together when I saw heater hoses going into the firewall on my dad's truck before I could even drive.
Well, heater core has been hooked up, new radiator in and everything works awesome. The heater has absolutely skin melting temps now. The volume of air it puts out is crazy too. #1 setting on this jeep is more powerful then #2 on my other one.
Yes the whole thing sucked to do. It took way too long. But in the end, the outcome is so good I just might do the same to my other Jeep.
Btw - temps are exactly the same going from an all aluminum 3 core to a cheap plastic 1 core. We will see what these +100° temps do.
Put another exhaust manifold on it (no more exhaust leaks. Yay.) put the engine for the Comanche in the back of the Cherokee. Because rear engine race Cherokee.
I got the YJ's new Kenwood deck in the mail today, followed later on by my most recent Amazon order: an Optima battery tender and license plate covers for my commuter car.
I installed the KMR-M322BT, which meant re-splicing all the wires because Kenwood *finally* updated their connector after almost a decade. But the marine-grade digital media receiver is a nice departure from the full-size CD receivers I've used in the past. The whole unit is lightweight and has a mounting depth of less than 5". This means I no longer find myself struggling to jam wires into the back of the dashboard where they press against the heatsink.
While I was out there, I folder my windshield back up after a few weeks of it laying down. I popped the hood and installed my new 62mm bored throttle body from Mean Lemons (XJwonders). The machine work looks clean, everything is smooth, and there's no whistle on the butterfly. I wasn't able to take a real test drive due to rain, but the throttle response is definitely snappier than it has been in a while. I lost that low-end grunt when I installed a full 2.5" exhaust, but I think I've gained it back now that my intake can pull enough air to compensate.
I also hooked up the battery tender to the J10 so it'll be ready for the buyer when he comes to test drive it. If I had realized how cheap they are, I would've bought one much sooner to alleviate the concerns of whether or not it would start each time.
Lets just say its a bit fluffy.... But its better then having your hands stick to the wheel. Need to go to the JY one of these days to get a new one off a GC thats in better condition.
