Started prepping the new-to-me rearend. Cleaned it up, shot it with Rustolium, and installed the extended brake line. Gonna get it into the jeep now with stock gears, just gonna rebuild the brakes and possibly throw in some new leaf springs.
While you have that axle off, you should relocate those shock mounts.
ew power steering pump with a smaller pulley for clearance, plumbed in a PS fluid cooler behind the trans cooler, found a nifty cooler line adapter for the gear box.
next is adjusting the drive trains angle of the dangle so it can quit vibing, and adding an aux fan
Scored some vented quarter windows for the 2-door at a junk yard for $100. I was going to have a local auto glass guy install for another $100, but I couldn't get an appointment till tomorrow morning. Decided to give it a shot. Got 'em installed in about 1.5 hours!
Had to drive over an hour to pick them up, but after calling nearly 20 junkyards over the past few weeks, I was happy to find any:
Worked the one piece windows out from the inside, starting at one corner:
I used some thin cord pushed into the gasket all around, wiped all surfaces with silicone spray, got the bottom in first then worked the gasket all around as I pulled the cord into the vehicle. Set the gasket perfectly. Easy
Looks real good, man! I like that subtle "mirror" tint to it too.

Well ONE of my tires was going half bald and pulling to the passenger side pretty bad. I swapped it with the driver's side tire and it helped A LOT, but of course, I still had a half-bald tire.
A friend of mine posted about a friend of HIS selling a brand new 32" BFG for 50 bucks, so I jumped on it. I had pretty good sucess with removing the 235's I was borrowing off the rims (guy told me to keep the tires, but give him the rims back) so I figured, no sweat, I'll change it out myself.... yeah... flotation tires are a whole different story than passenger tires.
I started wrestling with this thing on Friday evening and managed to get the beads broke and the front bead over the rim... but the back was fighting me really bad. Of course, it didn't help that I had worked over night the night before and got about 2 hours of sleep during the day. I packed up all my tools, sit the tire in the garage and decided to try it again the next day...
Came out the next day, EMPTIED my bottle of dish soap into my water/soap mix bottle and SOAKED the thing. Then I grabbed my big crow bar and started beating the beads with the biggest hammer I had. Definitely would've been easier with a bigger hammer, but I finally the the wheel out..
Getting the new tire on took less time than removing the old one... but it still gave me a bit of a hard time. I didn't have time to take any pics of the new tire installed before getting called in for work, but I got it installed and drove it to work without incident.
Only thing that sucks is, all my tires are a 32x11.5r15.... the old ones are worn down so far they're only measuring about 30"... the brand new one measures about 31.5"... so it's about 3/4" taller on that one corner. But this is just to get me by for another month or so until we come back from our trip.... I've been authorized by "the boss" to by new tires.

Are your fenders trimmed? What's with the lines down the center of the tire? Looks like they're getting sliced up...
Nah, they were like that when I got 'em. I mean, yes, my fenders are trimmed, and yes, the tires do have slices down them, but that's not from me. They were on that green parts jeep that I got and that ******** DIDN'T trim the fenders. Just pulled the flares off, put 3" spacers front and rear on it, stuff 32" tires under it, and called it good.
So after the rain delay yesterday I was able to go forward. Between yesterday and today got the Dynamat on with some closed cell foam and the Infinity Tweeters in. Just the front doors though.
