Beautiful! I think I need to go visit my friend out there.

Did a little thing today. Saw another user on here do this quick little "mod" utilizing the stock spare location by flipping the bracket. Works pretty well.

Thing 1, for those who have been following the saga of Jeep Dirté. Back from the transmission shop. Thing 2 will have an appointment there after I resuscitate my wallet, but it can be driven around town for now

Here ya go man... not anything major. I did deviate from his design though. I put the ratchet strap between the wall and the bracket instead of the hole in the front of the bracket. Seems to work better to me.

It's awful! Absolutely terrifying. 9" of lift, sprung over, with no shocks, no swaybar, no track bars, bad brakes, and four worn out TREs surrounding a bent tie rod.

Naturally, I've started using it for my 45 minute commute on one of the busiest highways in the country

Rides like a Cadillac Brougham now.

Got one of those fancy IR wireless thermometer dohickeys to see how my front diff is doing temperature-wise. I still have a growling noise and I thought it was coming from there. To recap, about a month ago my BRAND NEW passenger side front axle seal gave up during a road trip, dumped most of the fluid, and the diff got hot enough to burn the paint off the cover.

This morning was the first time driving it on the highway since having the seal replaced again. When I got to my destination, the diff cover was only 140F which I think is probably fine. On a hunch, though, I also pointed it at the front output yoke on my transfer case and that sucker was at 190F, about 10 minutes after getting off the highway.

Would those readings be considered in the normal range?

Mine runs 150 - 160F. Check the fluid level and condition in transfer case.

I changed out the interior lights to LEDs last night. By far my favorite thing that I have done. Anyone who is on the fence about this... best $30 I've spent on this thing so far. Got them from Onewaylight, the product is very nicely packaged, each lighting "area" is separated and labeled and has good, clear instructions.

And I pulled apart the plastic pieces that give the light a pattern (no idea what this is called) and tossed 'em. Now the map light covers/buttons are completely clear. I think it turned out pretty cool.

Not today but over the last couple got the old floor cut out, new one welded in, and both rockers cut out ready for 2x6 to be welded in.
