Making a revised wind fairing, prototype delaminated after two years and one hurricane. Fitted to contour of roof with 1/4" gap, does not touch paint. Also added side panels.
Has been blowing a gale here every week due to the changing of seasons.

That looks awesome. I've been meaning to ask about your rack setup. I like it. I'm trying to build one that utilizes the factory rails and the rain gutters. Trying to keep it as tight to the roof as possible too. Did you build that rack yourself?

These were my exact thoughts...Also I think I'm going to fab up some replacement cross bars out of tube then everything will be really solidly mounted but the whole rack should still be removeable too!
Some ******* kid threw a small rock off a foot bridge that overpasses the highway where I live. Took a nasty chunk out of my windshield. My windshield has always bothered me. I can never seem to get it clean. Always glare and smudges no matter what I use to clean it. Hopefully the insurance comes through.
I'd like to replace the windshield trim while the glass is out. Where is a good place to get it? You think insurance would cover that if it's dry rotting?

Can see the original mounting holes of gutter mounts in this picture. Also, gutter mounts are located directly over B-pillar and C-pillar, set in a small square of rubber (bicycle tube).

Drove it for the first time in way too long
Only took three attempts to put a rear seal in the transfer case
. I kept tearing up the inner part of the seal on the splines and it would sling a mist like stream of fluid every where, mainly on the catalytic converter
Since I didn't have the special tool to get the seal over the splines I just kept trying different methods. What finally worked was lint covered painters tape. It stuck well enough not to get pull down by the seal, but not so hard that I couldn't peel it back off once the seal was seated.
I also learned that it is much easier to change a rear transfer case seal with the TC on the bench than it is with it bolted up under the Jeep

The Black Magic Brakes Kit was $395. You can use junk yard parts off a KJ, or ZJ but I wanted new. I also tried figuring out if I could source all the parts individually and was coming up $400+. The G2 conversion is $600 I think and there's a Teraflex conversion as well. And this is if you have an 8.25. D35's came with discs on ABS models so you could probably just find on of those.

Installed a vacuum reservoir from a TJ inside the front edge of the passenger fender. Its pretty well hidden but its at some risk. The next time I take the grill off, I will pull the fender panel and move it up and back, to the same place the washer fluid bottle is located on the driver side of late model XJs.

Also changed out the thermostat and radiator cap, since the jeep has been surging warm lately.
